Being in the present moment gives you the ability to really enjoy and nurture the moment you are in; this is why it is called the present as in essence it is a gift to yourself to embrace the present moment as it unfolds.

So often people are forever chasing moments in the future that have yet to be. For example, oh if I get this promotion in work, or if I meet a new partner, or if my child gets these grades. But what happens when those things that you might think will make you happier arrive is that you are already chasing the next future moment.
And this can be said for living in the past, worrying about past mistakes, or things that were not done, or things if you could go back in time you would change.
The future technically is not here yet, and the past is in the past but what you actually have is the present.
Being in the present moment can give you happiness, because in essence by being in this one moment you don’t need to think about anything else, other than what you are actually doing.
So go on Smile, I dare you in this present moment as you are reading this blog. Did you know smiling is contagious and smiling lifts your vibration to one of a positive note.
On another note, still positive, being in the present moment can also relate to how grounded you are. Being grounded gives you strength, stability and enhances confidence.
If you want to be technical being grounded is when your astral body is in alignment with your physical body, but you do not need a science degree to do this and you might want to try this simple exercise –
1. Sit comfortably on a chair with the soles of your feet flat on the ground.
2. Take a moment and sense how you are feeling.
3. Close your eyes and by pure thought invite in the highest white light through the top of your head.
4. Just imagine this highest white light flowing down through your head and into your body.
5. So, this highest white light flows down through your arms, into your fingertips, down through your chest, down through your solar plexus.
6. It flows down through your legs to your feet.
7. Then imagine you have roots coming out of each of the soles of your feet, one root out of your right sole and one root out of your left sole.
8. Feel or imagine these roots going right down into the centre of the Earth and spreading out and anchoring in.
9. However subtle or profound, just sense the difference of before and after.
Grounding daily gives you the option of being in the present moment, enhancing strength, stability and confidence.
